Christian Reith has been suspended for four meetings after admitting a charge of careless riding in the last race at the Canterbury midweek meeting.

Reith pleaded guilty after Racing NSW stewards reviewed tape of the early stages of the benchmark 72 Schweppes Handicap (1400m).

Footage showed his mount Radical Impact cutting across after the jump and causing apprentice Rory Hutchings to check his horse Surfin' Safari.

Reith will be out from Sunday until July 2.
