Following her upset win over older mares at the Gold Coast, three-year-old With A Promise will take them on again at Doomben.

Her trainer Ben Currie was not as surprised as punters when With A Promise won the Listed Silk Stocking on May 6 as an $81 chance.

Her win was one of three at stakes level for Currie since the Queensland carnival began.

Col 'N' Lil won the Weetwood Handicap in a dead-heat with Jumbo Prince and Cantbuybetter won the Singapore Turf Club Members Cup.

The Toowoomba trainer has had nine winners this month including two-year-old Crusher who made it two wins from two starts at the Gold Coast on Wednesday.

Currie accepted with With A Promise in the Harding Steel 3YO Plate and the Listed Bright Shadow Stakes for fillies and mares.

"These three-year-old races in Brisbane are always very tough and wide open. But I want to test her again in a mares race like the Bright Shadow," Currie said.

"She is very well bred and the more black type she gets the better."

Meanwhile, Currie decided not to run Col 'N' Lil in the Group One Doomben Cup and will aim her towards some of the lesser stakes races late in the carnival.

"I think the Ipswich Cup and Caloundra Cup might be more her go but how we get there remains to be seen," he said.
