Jockey dies in Melbourne racecourse fall

An apprentice jockey has died after a trackwork accident at a Melbourne racecourse.

The 22-year-old Clyde woman fell at the Cranbourne Training Centre just after 4.30am on Friday.

Racing Victoria track says trackwork at Cranbourne was suspended.

WorkSafe is investigating the incident .

RV, the Cranbourne Racing Club and the Victorian Jockeys Association are offering assistance to the family and the local racing community.
