Leading Queensland rider Matt McGillivray will not appeal his latest suspension but still has other hearings pending.

McGillivray, who leads the state premiership, rode a career-best four winners at Doomben on Saturday before beginning a 12-meeting ban from last week's Ipswich meeting.

He has been riding on stays of proceedings on two other suspensions.

Under Queensland rules, initial appeals go to a Queensland Racing Integrity Commission internal review but further appeals go to the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal.

QCAT is not only a racing body and it can often take months for cases to be heard.

Some jockeys have continued to ride and some trainers continued to train for five months before their cases have been heard.

McGillivray's lawyer Matt Tutt said the first two suspension matters were due to go to a pre-hearing conference in QCAT on Friday.

"But unless there is a change of heart from QRIC we will battling on and will probably get a hearing date next year," Tutt said.

McGillivray won on Zafonic Dancer and No Annamossity for trainer Robert Heathcote, Endless Days for Peter and Will Hulbert and Time To Torque for Kelly Doughty.

It equalled his previous four winners at a TAB meeting at the Rockhampton Newmarket day in June.

"I only came out of my apprenticeship last month so it is good to be getting the support of many trainers," he said.
