Hi all and welcome to the three days of Aintree thread where we will posting our selections for the 21 races to be run starting this Thursday culminating with the big one the Crabbie's Grand National Chase to be run on Saturday.
Below you will find our updated list of ten or so runners who we will be looking at to win the big race on Saturday based on certain criteria’s. Obviously, we won’t be backing all runners but for sure we will be looking at selecting four to five runners on the day once final fields have been confirmed. Good luck if you’re going to have a go on any of the races over the 3 days.
The criteria’s we used to make our list of possible selections for the Crabbie’s Grand National was to look for a horse that:

(a) has won at the course previously
(b) has won at 3m+ distance
(c) is aged between 8-11yrs old
(d) is carrying 11 stone or less
(e) French or Irish bred
(f) is rated 136 or higher
(g) has had a run over hurdles this current season

Current BF odds as of 1/4/16

1. Shutthefrontdoor (7/7) @ 20’s
2. Double Seven (7/7) @ 40’s
3. Triolo D'Alene (6/7) @ 20’s
4. Holywell (6/7) @ 14’s
5. Boston Bob (6/7) @ 25’s
6. Unioniste (6/7) @ 25’s
7. Just A Par (6/7) @ 33’s
8. Saint Are (6/7) @ 20’s
9. Alvarado (6/7) @ 33’s
10. Highland Lodge (6/7) @ 33’s
11. Bally Beaufort (6/7) @ 100

Only 2 horses tick all 7 boxes both Shutthefrontdoor and Double Seven. Will definitely look at backing these 2 on the day if still in the final field along with at least another 2 to 3 others from the list above. At this stage it doesn’t look like Double Seven might make the final field. Another who looks to be heading into our shortlist is Saint Are who finished second to Many Clouds in last year’s race. He ticks six of the seven boxes while another who might make our final five is Alvarado who has finished fourth in the big race for the last two years and with the likely hood of five place dividends being paid out is worth another shout we feel.

Please feel free to post any selections for any of the races over the 3 days in this thread. Will post day 1 selections by Thursday.
