Flemington 13.09.2014 (Good 3)

Race 1: Thought the run of 7 Lumosty last start was impressive. This is an open race and her form behind Earthquake could measure up in this. 1 Sabatini was supper winning at Caulfield last start and she brings fitness to this race, but gives most of these 2kg’s, which is a slight concern. 6 Traveston Girl bolted in last start! If she came out and won again that wouldn’t shock me the slightest. 3 Afleet Esprit had a nice win at Moonee Valley the other week and she’ll run well here. Just thinking she might the extra 100m late. Suggested Bet: 7 Lumosty E/W

Race 2: Really poor race. I think the best suited runner is 8 Lord Durante he’s forms solid behind Bagman who’s then gone on and ran well in a G2. He’s $5.50 and $2.02 so he’s an E/W bet all day here. 6 Trade Commissioner will improve 3rd up over a more suitable distance and he can defiantly fill the placings. 5 Marksmanship had the run of the race last start and was beaten 200m out from home. I think he’s better suited to softer track. 4 Prizum next best.

Race 3: Really thought 7 Signoff mapped well for this race. He’s drawn out and carry’s just 54.5kg and out to a more suitable trip. He couldn’t run on at all last start, and they jockey stated that he had a lap full of horse. 1 Brambles has been racing well and he’s got fitness on he’s side and should be attacking the line well. 4 Prince Of Penzance should improve 2nd up over the 1700m, he’s a smart type. Next best 10 Beyond Thankful Suggested Bet: Box 1,4,7 in a quinella

Race 4: From what I’ve seen, I thought 2 Chivalry would be hard to beat here. He’s run at Caulfield last was HUGE! He steps up to the more suitable 1400m and the big Flemington track and he’s good enough to win this. 1 Zululand was the real eye catcher behind Chivalry and he’s another who is a lot better suited to the big Flemington track and the 1400 will suit him. (Track and distance winner) 11 Divan proved a handful last start over racing, but landing the job at Sandown. If he over races and pulls, he’ll get found out quickly in this grade. 3 Merian is a classy type and will improve getting out over further. Suggested Bet: 2 Chivalry the win & 1 Zululand the place.

Race 5: Speed comes from 3 Gregers, 6 Solcit then probably next line 10 Lorna May. Happy to have 3 Gregers on top here. She’s been in good form stringing 2 wins together this prep. She’s drawn well today and should give a good sight. 1 Commanding Jewel was awesome 1st up and didn’t have an awful lot of luck either. She’ll run well but is well found in the betting at $2.40. 6 Soclcit is a classy mare resuming who loves the Flemington 1400m. She might find these a bit sharp 1st up from a spell, but she’ll make her own luck in front. Thought 7 Gig will run home strongly here, and brings some solid group form. Suggested bet: 3 Gregers E/W

Race 6: Pretty happy to watch and learn from this race. I found it very difficult to analyse and we’ll learn a lot out of this race for the future.

Race 7: Nice race for a Group 1. Speed looks to come from 11 Don Doremo, 7 Messene then next pair back 9 Dissident and 5 Sertious. Thought this race mapped well for 3 Boban, he gets he’s preferred 1600m and the big spacious Flemington track. He usually peaks 3rd up and he shouldn’t be getting caught 3 wide without cover. 6 Puissane De Lune gets he’s chance to snag he’s first G1 here. He’s run in the Memsie was a real eye catcher, where he hit line hard. 9 Dissident was very impressive winning the Memsie, and there’s no reason to suggest he won’t run a forward race. 2 Fawkner is a Flemington specialist who can run a big race fresh. Don’t dismiss! Suggested Bet: 3 Boban the win.

Race 8: Very open race, with many winning chances! I’ve ended up settling with 2 Temple Of Boom. Tegean Harrison has been the key to getting this horse to really settle in he’s races. He’s form leading in to this is awesome, he beat the classy mare Snitzerland and I think he can run a big race here today. 11 Charlie Boy is a really promising horse out of the Ryan yard. He’ll defiantly run a bold race here. 10 British General is my smokey E/W bete here at $51/$11 He’ll run a forward race and makes he own luck on the speed. 3 Flamberge is a classy horse in good form, and he loves the Flemington straight. Suggested Bet: 2 Temple Of Boom & 10 British General E/W

Race 9: Really tough race to finish off with! I thought 13 Our Hand Of Faith mapped really well for this type of race. He’ll push forward from barrier 3 and sit right on the speed. He looks a nice winning hope here. 3 Rhythm To Spare is a good horse and he should be prominent on the speed and run a good race. 5 Scapolo comes across from NZ in good form, but he’s a bit questionable on a firm track. 14 Under The Louvre steps up to 1400m, and could improve. Suggested Bet: 13 Our Hand Of Faith the win.

Good luck to all!
