RACE 1 PINJARRA SUNDAY 13TH APRIL

1. JASPARA - From Belmont Trials 11th Nov: Very green. Ran around a bit, but given an easy time in the run to the line. Trial may be better than it looked (btn 5.75L). Like to see again over 900m. From Belmont Trials 25th November: Led on the rails with Red Squall until the turn, went to a clear lead on straightening by 2L but was soon gobbled up by Hobart Jones. Btn 2L but that could have been a lot further if Hobart Jones had been trying the last 120m. From Belmont Trials 9th December: Jumped a clear length in front from barrier rise, ended up 3 wide to the turn around 2L from the leaders, niggled along in the straight to go after War Ksar but made no impression, nice trial anyways.

2. LIFE OF LEO - From the Lark Hill trials 7th April: Led the fence until straightening, overpowered easily at the 200m, jock pulled the whip at the 150m and it seemed to battle on from this point to be btn 3.75L. Did walk up front, so probably should have shown a bit more fight earlier in the straight. No turn of foot.

3. SKIP TRACER - From the Lark Hill trials 10th March: Jumped ok but soon drifted back through the field to be essentially last of the main body of the field approaching the turn, very wide as they turned and straightened, ridden aggressively on straightening, made up some ground in the straight and appears a 1400m horse at this stage. Its debut 3rd at Pinjarra was excellent, but may have had the second up blues running 6th on the 2nd April. A repeat of debut run will see it go close.

4. TRANSGRESSOR - From the Belmont trials 17th March: Jumped well (they nearly all did in this trial) and was pushed along (400m trial) until 50m out when just glided to the line but the work had been done to overpower Naturaliste to win by 0.3L with 2L back to 3rd. Very fast time for a 400m 2yo trial. From the Belmont trials 31st March: Led by up to 3L approaching the turn, led by 1L as they turned, put up a 2L lead on straightening, still by 2L at the 100m but idled to the line to win by 0.75L from Besannrose. Beautiful trial.

5. UNDISCLOSED DESIRE - From the Lark Hill trials 10th March: Sat 3rd the fence behind Dubreeze & Let Me Impress to the turn, there was a gap there to go through on the fence upon straightening, initally went for that gap but then chose to peel to the outside of Dubreeze to go between it & Let Me Impress, shown the whip at the 200m, couldn't run down Dubreeze nor Let Me Impress to run 3rd btn 1.75L. Just a basic trial given the run it had. Debut run at Bunbury was rubbish.

6. JUST JAFFA - From the Belmont trials 31st March: Was 2L in front after 100m, led Baraki Beats by 1L as they turned, led by 2L on straightening, led by 1.5L at the 150m & shown the whip at this point for the next 100m, held on narrowly to beat a fast finishing Baraki Beats by 0.2L. Wore blinkers. Ok trial. Its two runs in Nov & Dec of 2013 were basic.

7. MUSKATELLE - From the Belmont trials 17th March: Was asked to go in this 400m trial but had nothing btn 7.75L by Tina's Liberty. From the Belmont trials 31st March: Btn 8L but not asked for a lot. Like to see again.

8. MY AVA - Poor on debut at Bunbury 26th March.

9. PAYLITA MAK - From the Belmont trials 17th March: Led by 1L after 50m, pushed along hard at this point to be 2L in front after 100m, ridden quieter the last 100m but was being overhauled by Tina's Liberty at this point, ran 2nd btn 1.75L in quick time, with a further 4L back to 3rd. Nice trial. From the Belmont trials 31st March: Was on the fence on the inside of Baraki Beats on straightening, couldn't go with that horse to be beaten 4.75L running 3rd.

10. SHADOW OF A GIRL - From the Belmont trials 31st March: 2L off the leader as they approached the turn, loomed up & joined in on turning, took over with Tales Of Summer on straightening, given a crack at the 200m and then the 100m but btn 0.5L by Tales Of Summer who was beside it as they straightened. Strong trial in quick time.

11. TALATINA - From the Belmont trials 31st March: Could make no impression in this, btn 6.25L by Just Jaffa & Baraki Beats. Its 2 races in Nov & Dec at the end of 2013 were basic.

12. VAST BEAUTY - From the Lark Hill trials 10th February: Unimpressive trial. Always well back & could not keep up despite strong urgings. Btn 3.75L by Angel Sky over 400m. From the Lark Hill trials 24th March: Led the fence until straightening, still led at the 150m but stopped as if shot from this point, btn 4.75L by Let Me Impress.

13. BONNY GEORGE - From the Belmont trials 31st March: Could make no impression in this, btn 9.5L by Just Jaffa & Baraki Beats.

14. BESANNROSE - From the Belmont trials 31st March: Sat 2nd the fence 3-4L off Transgressor approaching the turn, got within 1L of Transgressor as they turned but was soon burnt off again once they straightened, battled on well to get within 0.75L on the line to run 2nd but Transgressor just idled to the line. Its two runs last month at Ascot were just basic.
