An intriguing race with the boom NZ colt Atlante narrowly going down to Dissident last start. That was Atlante's first run in Australia after winning the the NZ Group 1 Guineas in November last year over 1600m.

The colt has massive wraps and his astute trainer, Murray Baker, stated that the horse wasn't suited on the soft ground against Dissident and will be further improved on firmer ground next start.

One cannot forget the other NZ horse in El Roca. The Fastnet colt looked devastating when he beat Dissident by 2 lengths at Rosehill on February 15th but he had to settle for second last start at Warwick Farm going down to Terravista by .2L.

Another runner in Criterion has certainly hit form this preparation and cannot be underestimated. The last few eye-catching runs have been full of merit.

A high quality field sets up an intriguing encounter come Saturday!
