Albury R5 #8 Ryker - looks a race that the major Sydney yards have a strangle hold on this year, decided to lean towards Ryker on top clearly over Himation, Ryker is very well bred by Redoute's Choice out of the Kinmgmambo mare Mambo Chatte who is an unraced half sister to the USA Grade 2 winner Horse Greeley (Del Mar Futurity), 2nd dam by Storm Cat finished 2nd in the G1 Hollywood Milady Handicap and the 3rd dam is the Chilean champion mare Carita Tostada, represents the leading yard of Gai Waterhouse and comes into this 2nd up from a spell on the back of trying to make all at Canterbury last time out when 1l 3rd to the high class Shahad, the pace here should be even and drawn down in the 3 alley this one is likely to get the best trip of the on pacers and fitter now 2nd up should prove hard to run down in deep stretch, the major query runner Himation is drawn wide and will have to work harder early in the race to take up a position, clear leaning towards Ryker and at 7.00 in fixed odds markets looks excellent value.

Albury R6 #14 Projectile - this looks a strong renewal of the Albury Cup with plenty of decent staying form on offer but it is the lightly raced improver in terms of staying potential in the form of Projectile that catches the eye here as the one to beat, represents the astute Waterhouse yard and gets in superbly weighted with only 54kg, he is a very well bred type by Encosta De Lago out of a Danehill Dancer 1/2 & 3/4 sister to Laisserfaire, Time Thief & Foreplay, put the writing on the wall at the end of last preperation scoring over 2000m at Hawkesbury by 4.5l lumping 59kg and making all, form lines taken through the beaten brigade suggest that was a G3 quality effort as a minimum despite the $22K tag in that race, he is 4th up from a spell here on the back of winning his last 2 on end over 1550m and 1900m at Canterbury when making all on each occassion, he is perfectly drawn in the 1 alley to get a soft lead and dictate a moderate to slow tempo, under those conditions and being in on the minimum he is sure to prove hard to run down in deep stretch, currently on offer at 10.0 & 3.3 in fixed odds markets he represents excellent value.

Terang R2 #1 Glory's Girl - 5yo Exceed And Excel mare resuming from a 20 month spell having mere 2nd career start, failed on debut back in July 12 at Geelong on the AW but recent trial win suggests is much better than that bare form suggests, won a trial on this track over 800m defeating some decent types in comparrison to this maiden tag in prep for 1st up tilt here, represents the astute yard of Dan O'Sullivan who places his horses exceptionally well on the country maiden circuit, very good speed pedigree by Exceed And Excel out of a Lunchtime mare who has produced Listed winner British Lion and also Here For Glory, prior to this one dam had produced 8 foals to race for 7 winners, ticks enough boxes to warrant backing at likely decent odds in a slightly above par maiden for the tag.
