Bypassing the racetrack entirely, the debut foal of history-making mare Winx – global news two years back right now – faces permanent retirement.
On Wednesday, social media carried the word from Kepitis family enterprise Woppitt Bloodstock concerning their $10 million Pierro filly, Quinceanera.
Viewers saw video of her with trainer Chris Waller, architect of Winx’s dominance, confirming the move per veterinary and training counsel.
“Although disappointing, it’s in her best interest to now begin her career as a broodmare,” the statement read.
Silence on her first breeding target stallion for later this year.
The news dropped aligning with the bicentennial of her Inglis Easter sale, secured by Debbie Kepitis over John Stewart from America.
Kepitis co-owned Winx through 37 triumphs from 43 starts – 33 consecutive including 25 Group 1s – amassing almost $26.5 million.
Quinceanera joins Winx’s lone other live foal, a Snitzel colt from 2024, pulled from Inglis Easter recently after a late prep problem.
Winx skipped breeding one cycle after the colt, then covered by Too Darn Hot at Darley last year.
