Peter Moody alongside Katherine Coleman will attempt to extend their Group 1 hot streak featuring one more three-year-old filly at Rosehill.
Sheza Alibi dominated the Group 1 Randwick Guineas (1600m) over the weekend, paving the way for three-year-old companion Ole Dancer in Saturday’s Coolmore Classic (1500m) at Rosehill.
The Group 1 Coolmore Classic is designated for fillies and mares, positioning Ole Dancer for her third run this time in.
Spring Group 1 Thousand Guineas (1600m) winner at Caulfield, Ole Dancer has notched two efforts post-spell.
February 14 at Flemington saw her close on Sass Appeal, who captured the Kewney Stakes at Flemington recently, followed by a third placing versus Tempted in the Group 1 Surround Stakes (1400m) at Randwick a couple of weeks ago.
Ole Dancer has matured well beyond her Randwick showing, Moody revealed, after a pleasing gallop in Sydney monitored by Coleman.
“She stayed up there and has done well,” Moody said.
“Sheza Alibi just likes the home environment a bit more, whereas Ole Dancer, you could park her in an apartment somewhere and it wouldn’t bother her.
“Katherine’s been up there and is really pleased with how she is.
“Zac Lloyd rides her on Saturday as Trumby (Luke Nolen) can’t make the weight.”
Retaining Ole Dancer in Sydney after her initial right-handed run, Moody fetched Sheza Alibi home to Pakenham for vigilance.
The filly’s gruelling 11-month stint prompts Moody to consider downtime ahead of further autumn action.
“She probably has one more if she pulls up alright, but if she doesn’t, she’ll go to the paddock,” Moody said.
“The fact that we are bringing her home, she won’t run again within three weeks, because it would be too hard to make two trips in two weeks, but I’m mindful she was in work 11 months last year.
“That was why I wanted to run her in the Australian Guineas and then maybe have one or two runs in Sydney before she spelled.”
Entries for Saturday’s Coolmore Classic stand at 16 fillies and mares, highlighted by Cinsault after three successive victories, plus Arctic Glamour, Jenni The Fox, Manaal, Savvy Hallie and Verona Rose.
