Revengeance secured a crucial early ticket into the Golden Slipper with a professional victory in the $1 million Golden Gift (1100m) at Rosehill.
The Tulloch Lodge juvenile pocketed $580,000 for the win, locking in his spot for the Slipper, and co-trainer Adrian Bott confirmed that all roads now lead to March.
“We’ll program everything from here towards the Slipper,” Bott said.
“There are several lead-up options — the Blue Diamond, the Inglis Millennium — and we’ll choose whatever gives him the best path.”
Revengeance followed an almost identical pattern to North England, who Bott and Waterhouse trained to win the same race last year after placing in the Breeders’ Plate.
“That grounding is invaluable,” Bott said.
Under $2.60 favourite’s odds, Revengeance took a forward spot and quickened sharply under Josh Parr to win by a length over Spicy Miss, with Plagiarism third.
Parr believes the colt will improve again over more ground.
“He’s really strengthening and learning every time,” Parr said.
“A rise to 1200m is ideal.”
