Three on the trot for Lady Of Honour in Twilight Glow Stakes at Caulfield

Lady Of Honour has continued her winning sequence and claimed a first stakes victory by leading throughout at Caulfield.

The Ben and JD Hayes-trained filly took out the Listed Twilight Glow Stakes (1400m) on Saturday to follow wins at Ballarat and Sandown.

Ridden by Jake Noonan, Lady Of Honour ($5.50) held on to score a half-length win from the $2.60 favourite Decent Raine with Lavish Girl ($10) 1-¼ lengths away third.

The victory of Lady Of Honour continued the successful run Lindsay Park has had with Coolmore-owned horses over the years, including Personal who was successful in the Group 1 VRC Oaks last year.

“We do love these Coolmore fillies,” Ben Hayes said.

“We’ve had a lot of success with them over the years and it is fantastic for Coolmore. They’ve stuck strong with us for years.

“This is the race we always targeted with her, so it is nice to win.”

As to the future program for Lady Of Honour, Hayes said the filly may be put away for the autumn.

“We’ll have a good think about it,” Hayes said.

“I don’t think there’s too much around for her now, but we might have a bit of fun in the autumn.”

Saturday’s win continued Jake Noonan’s association with the filly after her previous two wins.

Noonan does not ride a lot for Lindsay Park and would like to keep the association going next campaign.

“They put the faith in me and that has worked to some advantage because I know her so well and her little traits,” Noonan said.

“Even going to the gates there’s little idiosyncrasies that I just know and how to keep her controlled.

“She went from a maiden at Ballarat to a Benchmark 64 next time and I know we’re at the back end of the spring, but it was still stakes races.

“To be able to raise the bar like that and step up and win with ease, it shows the good ability she has.”
