Treasurethe Moment is set to resume this week as Matt Laurie prepares the star mare for a short but targeted autumn campaign.
The four-year-old enjoyed a stellar run through 2024, highlighted by victories in the Group 1 VRC Oaks, Vinery Stud Stakes and Australian Oaks.
She also held her own against elite opposition in races such as the Cox Plate and the Champions Mile, prompting her connections to give her a longer spell.
A jump-out later this week will mark her first public appearance of the year.
“We are happy with her preparation so far,” Laurie said.
“She will have another trial after this one as well leading into the Futurity Stakes.
“We gave her a little extra time in the paddock knowing that she had three really big preparations.
“She’s a horse that seems to come to hand quickly anyway and I think she is happy, rejuvenated and she’s keen.”
The Group 1 Futurity Stakes at Caulfield is earmarked as her first target, following her outstanding first-up win in last year’s Memsie Stakes.
“She is a super clean winded filly and with those monstrous preparations, sometimes after the spring they are lucky to get three weeks in the paddock before returning for more,” Laurie said.
Treasurethe Moment is currently priced at $4 in early betting for the Group 1 All-Star Mile, sharing second favouritism.
Form students can keep track of her progress via the latest online bookmakers as the autumn carnival approaches.
