Gallopers Sports Club QTIS 2YO Handicap (1050m) – 1:08pm AEDT

Tip: No Bet

Just three of the juveniles confirmed in the first at Doomben on Saturday have raceday experience, and betting suggests that there are plenty of live chances.

I am going to stay out of this one from a betting perspective.

BRC Membership Plus Class 3 Plate (1600m) – 1:43pm AEDT

Tip: No. 4 Tamilaide

This is a drop in class for Tamilaide, and is he primed to return to winning form.

The Adelaide gelding has returned to the races in typically competitive form this time, placing at Ipswich and Eagle Farm before finishing a credible sixth in The Wave at the Gold Coast a fortnight ago.

He is rock-hard fit, drawn ideally and is my best bet on the program.

Racecourse Village BM90 Handicap (1600m) – 2:18pm AEDT

Tip: No. 6 Supergiant

He didn’t show his best at the Gold Coast when resuming a fortnight ago, but Supergiant is a horse who tends to improve with a run under his belt, and I am going to give him a chance again at Doomben this week.

The Red Giant gelding was outstanding during his three-year-old season, winning the Gunsynd Classic most notably, and he has form around some above-average gallopers.

He’ll enjoy racing on an improved track, and we can have a small each-way play at the price.

Cascade BM78 Handicap (2000m) – 2:53pm AEDT

Tip: No. 1 Bengal Bandit

The strong and consistent Bengal Bandit takes his place in Race 4 at Doomben on Saturday, and he is primed to record another win.

The Brazen Beau gelding hasn’t missed placing in six starts since joining Lauren Abbott’s stable, winning three times, including a dominant performance at Ipswich a fortnight ago.

This is a small rise in class, but he’s rock-hard fit, and it does look the next obvious point of call.

Girls Day Out 12 March QTIS 3YO C&G Handicap (1200m) – 3:32pm AEDT

Tip: No. 6 Red Wave

This is one of the tougher races on Saturday’s Doomben program to analyse and there are several key winning chances, including Red Wave.

Red Wave was a consistent performer in town and on the provincial circuit last time, winning in maiden company at Ipswich and unlucky to only just miss at Eagle Farm, most notably.

He has been competitive when fresh previously, and he has had the benefit of a nice trial in the lead-up to his return.

Stradbroke Season On Sale Soon QTIS 3YO Fillies Handicap (1200m) – 4:12pm AEDT

Tip: No. 2 Frosty Mango

Frosty Mango has finished second at each of her first two starts back this time, and she is ready to strike at Doomben on Saturday.

The Hinchinbrook filly hasn’t finished worse than second at any of her first previous trips to the races, and she was only denied by Starman at her last effort.

I’m expecting that form to hold up and fitter third-up, she’ll take a power of beating in something like this.

XXXX Dry BM72 Handicap (1200m) – 4:52pm AEDT

Tip: No. 10 Purroni

This is another wide-open contest with several winning chances, and I think that a horse like Purroni can strike at a nice price ($9 at publish).

Purroni stripped fitter via a fair effort at Eagle Farm when resuming last month, and she returned a far more polished effort to finish second, beaten in a photo by Fanaar here last time out.

Fitter third-up, she’s drawn to receive a nice run in transit, and we can have an each-way play at the price.

Sky Racing One Metro Win Last Year Handicap (1100m) – 5:32pm AEDT

Tip: No. 13 Kingston’s Here

Kingston’s Here has recorded two wins from as many starts since resuming, and he can pull off the hat-trick at Doomben on Saturday.

The Rich Enuff gelding was far too good for a BM62 field at the Sunshine Coast when fresh, and he franked that performance and result with another eye-catching effort here at Doomben last time.

There isn’t much difference in between this race and that one in terms of quality, and I can’t find a reason why the horse won’t be in the finish again.

Venue Mode Class 6 Plate (1350m) – 6:12pm AEDT

Tip: No. 14 Palladas

This is one of, if not the strongest race on Saturday’s Doomben card, but I am going to stick with Palladas third-up.

Palladas finished fourth, albeit well beaten here at Doomben first-up, but flashed last into second behind The Ritz on the Gold Coast last time.

He can turn the tables on that galloper here, and is primed to strike under ideal conditions on Saturday.
