Kingston Town Classic Tips, Bets and Race Preview – 2021

Another calendar year is all but in the history books, and we’ve arrived at the final Group 1 feature race in Australia!

The Kingston Town Classic always garners plenty of interest and draws and talented field, but with travel restricted in 2021, the race will consist solely of Perth’s best middle-distance gallopers.

You can find my complete 2021 Kingston Town Classic tips below.

Kingston Town Classic – Winner – No. 7 Western Empire

Western Empire will start a very firm favourite in 2021 Kingston Town Classic betting and for good reason – I think that he is going to take a power of beating once more.

The Iffraaj gelding has missed placing only once in twelve previous trips to the races, winning on seven occasions.

While quite clearly always above-average, it is fair to say that he has gone to another level this prep, and he takes his place in the Kingston Town Classic field following a bullish performance and win in the Railway Stakes.

The rise in trip looks like it will only suit the horse even more, and as long as he holds his form, he should just be winning.

Kingston Town Classic – 2nd – No. 1 Regal Power

Group 1 winner Regal Power will take his place in the Kingston Town Classic field third-up, and I am confident that he can deliver Grant & Alana Williams (and Bob Peters) the quinella.

The Pierro gelding has been a star for the leading Perth stable throughout his career, but undoubtedly found his best during a four-year-old season that was highlighted by a dominant win in the Railway Stakes, and another eye-catching victory in the All-Star Mile.

He has finished fourth at each of his first two starts back this time, he’ll relish getting out to the 1800m on Saturday and I like that he has been back to the trials since his last race.

Kingston Town Classic – 3rd – No. 9 Kissonallforcheeks

Kissonallforcheeks filled the minors, albeit well beaten by Western Empire in the Railway Stakes, and I think that she can and will return another competitive performance on Saturday.

Kissonallforcheeks has been a strong and consistent performer for the Morton yard since making her debut, and she has returned several typically pleasing performances this time, highlighted by her win in the RJ Peters Stakes two back.

I don’t think that she is a chance of making up six lengths on the Kingston Town Classic betting favourite, but she can beat home most of her rivals.

Kingston Town Classic – 4th – No. 4 Too Close The Sun

Too Close The Sun has improved for his two starts back from a spell, and he is another galloper who should enjoy the conditions of the Kingston Town Classic at this point of his preparation.

The Carlton House gelding has been a strong and consistent performer in races across the country throughout the last couple of seasons, and he ended his last prep with a lovely win in Listed company.

He kept his best work for late when fifth in the Railway Stakes last time out, and he is a horse who tends to improve as he gets further out in trip.
