Magic Millions 3YO Guineas Tips, Bets and Race Preview – 2022

The Magic Millions 3YO Guineas is the second of two standout feature races on Saturday’s lucrative Gold Coast program, and a talented field will chase their share in a cool $2 million.

Won recently by the likes of Aim, Pierata and Mahuta, the Magic Millions 3YO Guineas boasts an open field, full of live chances in 2022, and a terrific betting race has materialised.

Magic Millions 3YO Guineas – Winner – No. 2 Jamaea

Jamaea has been a great horse for the Kembla Grange partnership of Robert & Luke Price since she debuted, and I am confident that she can record the biggest win of her career to date in the Magic Millions Guineas.

The Headwater filly stamped herself as one to watch during her two-year-old season, and ended her prep with a lovely win in the Group 2 Percy Sykes.

She had three starts in spring, highlighted by a classy win in the Group 2 Furious Stakes, and she has had the benefit of three nice trials in the lead-up to Saturday’s return.

She’s drawn well under Tommy Berry, and I think that her class alone will take her a long way towards being crowned the 2022 Magic Millions 3YO Guineas winner.

Magic Millions 3YO Guineas – 2nd – No. 6 Starman

Chris Waller just knows how to have them right on the big stage, and I think that Starman is a genuine winning chance in this year’s Magic Millions 3YO Guineas.

It’s a genuine rise in class for the three-year-old son of Zoustar, but he has recorded two wins from three starts this time, and he was nothing short of dominant over 1200m here last weekend, greeting the judge almost four lengths ahead of his rivals.

Clearly, the booking of James McDonald doesn’t hinder his chances of winning, he is drawn to receive arguably the run of the race from barrier 7, and he looks up to the grade.

Magic Millions 3YO Guineas – 3rd – No. 10 Miss Hipstar

I’m throwing on in at a bit of a price here, and I think that Miss Hipstar is far better than her Magic Millions 3YO Guineas odds of $51 suggest.

The Star Turn filly is steadily working her way into stable star status for veteran Brisbane horseman Kelly Schweida, and she is a multiple black type winner.

She is yet to salute in four starts back this time, but she has performed consistently, and she takes her place in the Magic Millions Guineas field following a credible third in the Group 3 Vo Rogue Plate.

She is drawn ideally under regular hoop Larry Cassidy, and she steps out in peak order.

Magic Millions 3YO Guineas – 4th – No. 13 Shihonka

Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott are another team who always have their horses peaking on race day, and Shihonka gets a lot of ticks in the Magic Millions 3YO Guineas.

Shihonka has recorded three wins and as many minors from her seven career starts so far, and she was freshened after claiming consecutive triumphs at Rosehill in November/December.

I thought that there was a lot to like about her performance for second in the Vo Rogue Plate, and she’ll enjoy plenty of improvement for that hit-out.
