Race 1 – 5:15pm – Four’N Twenty Plate, (1200m)

He’s Exceptional is the forgotten horse in this field.

He scored a narrow win over Jigsaw in the McKenzie Stakes at The Valley and he wasn’t disgraced in the Exford Plate.

This is a genuine drop in class and barrier two is ideal.

He is well and truly over the odds at $10.

Race 2 – 5:45pm – MSC Signs Handicap, (1200m)

This is a more open race than the current market suggests and Snapper is great value at his current quote.

Snapper has developed into something of a Valley specialist and he has scored two wins and a second place finish from his three race starts over this track and distance.

He will need some luck in running from barrier 11, but Jye McNeil can ride him aggressively and he will give his rivals something to chase.

Race 3 – 6:15pm – Group 2 Stutt Stakes, (1600m)

I am surprised that Mr Mozart isn’t a clear favourite in Stutt Stakes betting.

He showed his quality with an upset win over Artorius in the Exford Plate and earlier this campaign he ran well in the Vain Stakes.

Fred Kersley can settle him just behind the speed in the early stages of the race and he can finish over the top of Sandy Prince late.

Race 4 – 6:45pm – Group 3 Scarborough Stakes, (1200m)

This is an open edition of the Scarborough Stakes and there are a host of winning chances.

This isn’t a race I want to get too heavily involved in, but Morning Melody does look over the odds at her current price.

She has scored two wins from as many starts in fairly classy fashion and she still looks to have plenty of upside.

Damien Oliver can ride her aggressively in the early stages of this race and she will give her rivals something to chase.

Race 5 – 7:15pm – Ladbrokes 55 Second Challenge Heat 1, (955m)

Esta La Roca is well-placed to return to winning from in the Ladbrokes 55 Second Challenge.

She has been racing in tougher company than this and she comes into this contest on the back of excellent performances in the Lightning Handicap, Carlyon Stakes and McEwen Stakes.

Barrier ten isn’t ideal and she will need some luck in running, but I am confident that she is the class horse in this field.

Race 6 – 7:45pm – Group 3 JRA Cup, (2040m)

Homesman has a great record at The Valley and he can make a winning return to the races in the JRA Cup.

He won the Crystal Mile on Ladbrokes Cox Plate Day first-up last Spring and he went on to win the Australian Cup in the Autumn, while he chased home Zaaki in The Q22.

Jye McNeil will settle him right on the speed and I am confident that he is the class runner in this field.

Race 7 – 8:15pm – Group 1 Moir Stakes, (1000m)

This is a typically open edition of the Moir Stakes and there are a host of winning chances.

I am keen to bet around Profiteer and that means that there is some serious value to be found.

Swats That is the horse that is massively over the odds.

Her first-up effort behind Nature Strip in the Black Caviar Lightning was outstanding and she has produced a number of performances that are good enough to win this race.

Wild Ruler may never have a better chance to score a Group 1 victory.

I liked the way that he returned with his second place finish behind Nature Strip in the Concorde Stakes and he should take good improvement from that effort.

Barrier four is ideal and he will have every possible chance in the run.

I don’t want to lose on the race if Brooklyn Hustle is able to claim a maiden Group 1 win.

She will need every possible favour and she will be storming home late, but the wide barrier draw gives her the best possible chance of winning.

Race 8 – 8:45pm – Group 2 Ladbrokes Stocks Stakes, (1600m)

The Ladbrokes Stocks Stakes looks like the ideal race for So You Assume.

She has recorded three wins from her past four race starts and she has turned into a genuine winner.

The Valley is the perfect track for her and Dean Yendall should be able to find the front very easily in the early stages of this contest.

It will take a good horse to run her down.
