THE JUNCTION HANDICAP (1000M) – 12:07PM AEST

Tip: No. 2 Kolokar

Kolokar looks a winning chance in the first on South Australian Derby Day.

The Vadamos gelding hasn’t been seen at the races since February, but he stamped himself as one to watch during his brief debut prep, winning on debut at Gawler before finishing fourth in a better race here at Morphettville.

At publish, there’s $9.50 about him in the Neds market, and we can have an each-way play at that price.

G.H. MUMM AUTUMN SERIES DINAL (1400M) – 12:42PM AEST

Tip: 5 Aiguilette

Aiguilette can win the second at Morphettville this week.

The Epaulette needed his first couple of starts back this time to tune up, but charged in to score an impressive win in BM72 company here last month.

He takes his place in this contest at peak fitness, and following a credible second placing behind Another Award over 1200m.

GROUP 3 SOUTH AUSTRALIAN SIRES’ PRODUCE STAKES (1400M) – 1:17PM AEST

Tip: No. 1 Twin Stars

Twin Stars is the one that I want to be with in this year’s SA Sires’ Proeuce.

The Zoustar colt won on debut in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic at Murray Bridge in March, and he finished second behind See You In Heaven in the Group 3 Breeders Stakes here a fortnight ago.

He harbours plenty of upside and I can’t find a reason why he won’t be in the finish.

DAVID “DT” THOMAS MEMORIAL HANDICAP (1200M) – 1:52PM AEST

Tip: No. 4 Ashlor

Ashlor can be in a race like this one for a long way.

The veteran galloper has been a standout for the McCarthy yard for many years now, and he has returned three competitive efforts in competitive races this time in, finishing fourth on each occasion.

He steps out this week in peak order, he’ll go forward and make all of his own luck on the speed, and he’s another whom we can have something on each way.

GRAND SYNDICATES – NEW YEARLINGS AVAILABLE SPRINT SERIES FINALS (1100M) – 2:27PM AEST

Tip: No. 3 Meteorite

This is one of the more open races on the program, but I am happy to be with the early warm favourite, Meteorite.

Meteorite returned some nice efforts in strong company last time in, and he returned this time with an eye-catching performance to fill the minors behind Gaze Grise here at Morphettville.

Johnny Allen jumps into the saddle, and the horse can fight out the finish.

AUSTRALIAN TURF CLUB PROVINCIAL SUPER SERIES FINALS (1800M) – 3:02PM AEST

Tip: No. 7 Toyetic

This is another wide-open contest, and there’s a case to be made for several gallopers, including Toyetic.

Toyetic needed a few runs back this time to find form, but he returned to the winner’s stall at Gawler two starts back, before recording a bullish win over 1700m last time out.

This is harder, but he is well and truly worthy of a chance in Saturday metro company, and the $17 about him at publish could prove big overs.

LISTED ADELAIDE GUINEAS (1600M) – 3:42PM AEST

Tip: No Bet

Illation has opened a $1.20 favourite in Adelaide Guineas betting, and for good reason – he has recorded two dominant wins from as many starts since debuting.

I think he’ll win again, but that price is obviously far too short for me to get involved with.

GROUP 1 SOUTH AUSTRALIAN DERBY (2500M) – 4:22PM AEST

Tip: No. 1 Alegron

Alegron looks to be a star stayer on the rise, and he can record a maiden Group 1 victory in the South Australian Derby.

I’ve put him on top of my numbers, but be sure to check out my full race preview and complete 2022 South Australian Derby Tips RIGHT HERE.

JAMES SQUIRE HANDICAP (1050M) – 5PM AEST

Tip: No. 5 Kasami

Kasami can win the last on South Australian Derby Day.

The Henry Dwyer-trained mare has recorded two wins from four starts back this time, albeit at a weaker grade.

She steps out in peak order, there aren’t any real stars in engaged in this contest, and she probably won’t be offered a better opportunity to win a Saturday metro race.
