Jamie Kah is well-known for her riding exploits, but she may have added an extra line to her growing resume, that of saleswoman.

Kah was able to entice racing manager Lachie Weekley into the ownership of Crowning Moment who makes his debut in the Group 3 Blue Diamond Prelude for colts & geldings over 1100m at Caulfield on Saturday for Kah’s partner Clayton Douglas.

“I told Lachie ‘I pay you enough money every month so you had better get into a horse with us and start paying us’,” Kah said.

A son of Pariah, Crowing Moments was a $45,000 purchase at the Inglis Classic Sale last year and is the cheapest of all two-year-olds running at Caulfield.

There is still a long way to go with Kah describing Crowning Moment as a toddler.

“We spotted him at the Inglis Classic Sale last year and loved him,” Kah said.

“We didn’t even look at the page or anything.

“I reckon he’s the best two-year-old in Clayton’s stable. He was very raw last prep and is still very raw.”

Depending on Crowning Moment’s performance, a start in the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on February 26 is a possibility.

“It is an audition for the Blue Diamond if he runs up to what we think he can, but he could go out there and do everything wrong,” Kah said.

“But if he puts it altogether, I expect him to be right in the finish.”

It has been a long time coming, but Kah finally gets the opportunity to ride Behemoth for the first time in the Group 1 C F Orr Stakes (1400m).

Kah was still based in Adelaide when Behemoth first landed on the racing scene ahead of becoming a multiple Group 1 winner in Melbourne.

“It didn’t go my way last year, so it’s nice of the owners to give me another go this year,” Kah said.
