2025 Blue Diamond Stakes contenders require further vet inspections

Racing Victoria veterinarians have conducted inspections of all 16 two-year-olds ahead of the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes at Caulfield, with three failing the initial tests.

The pair trained by Ciaron Maher, Cherish Me and Icarian Dream, along with Jason Warren’s Palm Angel, will undergo further inspections on Friday.

The RV vets reported that these three horses displayed a change in their gait, and as a result, they will be reinspected to assess their suitability for the race.

Field Of Play, trained by Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young, the race favourite, was provisionally deemed fit to race but will also require an additional inspection on Friday after receiving a new set of shoes.

The remaining 12 runners in Victoria’s premier two-year-old race at Caulfield on Saturday have been cleared to compete.
