Another Prophet ready to go in Australian Guineas

With the Australian Guineas fast approaching, trainer Ciaron Maher is hopeful that Another Prophet can deliver him his third win in the race in four years.

Maher, who has enjoyed previous success in the Guineas with Hitotsu (2022) and Southport Tycoon (2023), has multiple entries for Saturday’s event. However, Kalkallo and Railway Man are expected to race midweek instead of at Flemington.

Another Prophet has been a key player for the stable, having taken out the Group 1 Thousand Guineas in November. The filly has already faced stiff competition this campaign, including a fourth-place finish to Royal Insignia at Sandown and a sixth-place run in the Desirable Stakes.

Despite these results, Maher remains confident in her chances.

“She’s in good order and she’s still going forward,” he said. “I don’t think it makes too much difference taking on the boys on Saturday and she’s ready to run out a strong mile.”

Three fillies will take part in the Guineas, with Another Prophet joined by London’s Image and Declichy Boulevard. New Zealand contender Savaglee is also among the entries, hoping to replicate the success of Legarto in 2023.

Early betting odds see Angel Capital as the $3.50 favorite, with Point And Shoot and Sepals next at $6. Final acceptances will be confirmed on Wednesday. Stay updated on odds via betting platforms.
