Low draw key for Snow In May in Hot Danish Stakes

Co-trainer Tom Charlton is prepared to forgive Snow In May’s Silver Eagle run as she prepares to tackle Saturday’s Hot Danish Stakes (1400m) at Rosehill.

Snow In May burst back to prominence this spring with an eye-catching placing in the Mona Lisa Stakes and another strong showing in the Golden Pendant.

However, she endured no luck in the Silver Eagle when trapped wide throughout, yet still competed honestly. With gate two this weekend, Charlton believes she gets her chance.

“Her run in the Silver Eagle you can put a line through — she was four-deep the trip,” Charlton said.

“She’s back to mares’ company and her previous run had real merit. On her best form she’s right in the race.”

The stable also presents Hurstville Zagreb in the 1800m Petaluma Handicap as he continues his rebuild toward Stakes level targets.

“He’s learning and improving each run,” Charlton said.

“1800 metres looks ideal and if he keeps progressing, he’ll earn his way into Listed or Group Three company.”

Bartolf will also run on the program in the Ranvet Handicap, looking to translate strong provincial form to Saturday grade.
