Josh Parr extended his recent winning streak on Wednesday, taking out the opening event at Warwick Farm after a stellar showing last weekend.

Parr was in fine touch on Saturday at Rosehill, claiming three wins including the McKell Cup aboard Elamaz, and picked up where he left off with another polished ride midweek.

He partnered the Hawkes Racing-trained Dyami ($1.90 favourite), guiding the three-year-old to an all-the-way win in the Captivant @ Kia Ora Plate (1200m), holding off Rach ($10) by 1.5 lengths.

Parr commented on the smooth ride after the race.

“He did everything really well for me. He jumped well, took up the lead comfortably and was willing to do so,” Parr said.

“When we were in for a fight the last section he dug deep and got the victory.

“He just kept responding to vigorous riding too. I love a horse like that, that is competitive, and the team has done a good job to get him here and win today off what looked a disappointing performance last time.”

The second race produced an upset when Tomato Toastie ($8.50) surged home to defeat short-priced favourite Pyrolysis ($3) in the Asahi Super Dry Plate (1200m).

Co-trainer Adrian Bott noted her improvement and maturity since her debut.

“Getting out that slight bit in distance today helped but having that race experience, she knew what it was all about today,” Bott said.

“She was switched on and she put herself in the race nicely.”

Tomato Toastie is set to go for a spell, and Bott is confident of her potential going forward.

“They’re always too darn hot, a tomato toastie,” Bott joked, referring to her sire, Too Darn Hot.
