Such a win would align Tentyris with three-year-old predecessors like Placid Ark (1987), Schillaci (1992), Exceed And Excel (2004), Weekend Hussler (2008), Brazen Beau (2015), Bivouac (2020) and Cylinder (2024).

The 57kg impost requires Tentyris to match three-year-old Ajax’s 1938 standard.

With four Flemington straight efforts behind him, Tentyris excelled in the latest pair: Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) spring victory and Group 1 Lightning Stakes (1000m) on February 14.

Saturday sees Mark Zahra return post-Damian Lane’s last win, barrier 12 allocated.

Countering Tentyris’s straight dominance are Ben, Will and J D Hayes of Lindsay Park.

Newmarket glory eludes Lindsay Park since Redkirk Warrior’s back-to-back 2017-2018 feats.

Personnel changes abound since David and Ben Hayes teamed with Tom Dabernig.

Ben Hayes confirmed approval of War Machine’s fresh preparation after Pakenham.

“He’s spot on and will bounce back,” Hayes said.

“We were really happy with his jump-out and I thought he was great through the line.

“He didn’t handle the night meeting, and it was a very firm track that night and he jarred up, but he seems right back on track now.”
