Peter and Paul Snowden know what it takes to win Melbourne’s premier juvenile race and they have another strong hope in Revolutionary Miss in the latest edition at Caulfield.

When in charge of the Darley operation, which became Godolphin in 2014, Peter won the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) with Sepoy (2011) and Earthquake (2014) before Paul joined his father to win with Pride Of Dubai in 2015.

Revolutionary Miss, who is the $6 second favourite for Saturday’s race with TAB behind Jacquinot ($5), is a different kind of horse to their previous winners according to Paul Snowden.

“She has surprised us,” Snowden told RSN.

“She was given time to develop into where she has got to.

“She’s never been that speedy two-year-old type, she’s been more of that laid back, build into her race and finish off strong

“It’s not surprising to see where she has got to with her talent that she possesses at the moment.”

Revolutionary Miss finished second at her first two starts in Sydney before being switched to Melbourne to win the Group 2 Blue Diamond Prelude (1100m) at Caulfield on February 12.

Snowden said stepping up to the 1200m on Saturday will not pose a problem and he has not ruled out returning to Sydney for the upcoming Group 1 two-year-old races.

“She was always going to relish the 1200 metres,” he said.

“I think what she has done so far is a little bit of bonus considering we thought that she would be better suited over further.

“She’s no fuss, she can travel anywhere in the run, tempo dependant.

“We’ve drawn that mid-range gate, a touch worse than that, but we’ve still got the option to roll forward with some tempo and hopefully slot in midfield.

“There’s every chance that she could go on after this as well. She’s got a good constitution, but that will be determined after Saturday.”
