Neville Parnham’s impressive sprinter Snowdome showcased his return to peak form with a determined victory in the Listed Tabtouch Pinjarra Classic (1300m), leading from start to finish.
Under the guidance of Brad Parnham, Snowdome dictated the pace early and fought off a late challenge from Man Crush to score by a neck. Man Crush, who refused to go down without a fight, finished second, while Final Siren rounded out the placings, 1 ½ lengths behind. Ice Pick Nick produced a strong finish from the rear but left himself with too much ground to make up, settling for fourth.
This latest success marked Snowdome’s second consecutive feature win after his victory in the Cyril Flower Stakes (1200m) at Ascot, cementing his return to form.
A brilliant two-year-old, Snowdome claimed the Sires’ Produce Stakes but struggled for consistency after securing the Group 3 Prince Of Wales Stakes (1000m) two seasons ago. However, a key decision to geld the son of Rommel last year has paid dividends, according to Parnham.
“His last couple of runs have been really, really top class,” Parnham said.
“I know this is not carnival-type horses, there’s a couple there that have performed very well, but he seems to be in great form.
“Certainly, gelding him after his last prep was a good move.
“He’s not as moody as he used to be, doesn’t sweat up as much as he used to.
“Clearly, it’s been a good decision to do that, he’s very sound and happy.
“We’re getting the right results with him.”
Looking ahead, the 1400m Bunbury Stakes looms as a potential target, though Parnham is yet to confirm the next step.
“I’m not sure what to do with him at the moment,” Parnham said.
“I’ll chat to Brad to see what he thought of the run and whether he would get 1400m.
“We’ll have a think about it and work from there.”
Snowdome’s Pinjarra triumph pushes his career tally to nine wins from 25 starts, bringing him closer to the $1 million prizemoney milestone.
