=A day after being confirmed for a slot in The Everest, Libertini has displayed signs of lameness in her near foreleg.

Trainer Anthony Cummings informed stewards that the mare was found to be sore after finishing sixth to Classique Legend in a Randwick barrier trial on Friday.

She was examined by the stable veterinarian, who diagnosed the lameness as originating from a foot issue and treated her with anti-inflammatories.

She is due to undergo another vet inspection on Monday.

Libertini was announced as the slot representative for Aquis on Friday and is being aimed at next month’s $15 million sprint first-up.

The five-year-old has an outstanding fresh record and defeated subsequent Everest winner Classique Legend on return in the Premiere Stake last spring before finishing unplaced in the feature.

Former champion Singapore galloper The Inferno has been confirmed for the slot held by James Harron following his Moir Stakes placing on Friday night at Moonee Valley.
