Mount Franklin QTIS 3YO Handicap (1050m) – 1:23pm AEDT

Tip: No. 6 Self Indulgent

Self Indulgent hasn’t been seen at the races since July, but she couldn’t have been more impressive on debut, and she can make a winning return at Doomben on Sunday.

The Foxwedge filly showed ability at the trails prior to debuting and put the writing on the wall with a bullish win here at Doomben, for which she beat home her rivals by nearly five lengths.

She has trialled up nicely in the lead-up to this return and she is primed to strike.

Girls Day Out 12 March BM78 Handicap (2000m) – 1:58pm AEDT

Tip: No. 4 Kirkeby

Last-start winner Kirkeby looks capable of winning again on McLachlan Stakes Day.

The Kermadec gelding has been a consistent performer this prep, and he was rewarded for his form with an easy win over this route last time.

He boasts a class edge over a lot of these rivals and with even luck, I can’t find a reason why he won’t be in the finish again.

XXXX City To Surf Plate (1600m) – 2:33pm AEDT

Tip: No. 5 Indiscreetly

Indiscreetly puts an unbeaten record on the line in the third at Doomben on Sunday, and it would certainly take a braver man than me to tip against her.

The Spill The Beans filly was far too good for her rivals at the Gold Coast on debut, and she franked that effort with an even more dominant performance at Eagle Farm last time.

Fitter third-up, I think she’ll just win again.

Doreen Bird BM78 Handicap (1600m) – 3:08pm AEDT

Tip: No. 3 Morethannumberone

This is a drop in class for Morethannumberone and he can return to winning form.

The Michael Costa-trained gelding was freshened after recording consecutive wins at the Gold Coast in August and September, and he returned for a credible third, beaten less than half a length here last month.

He steps out on Saturday following a credible sixth placing in the Recognition Stakes, and he is primed to strike.

BRC Membership Plus Class 3 Plate (1200m) – 3:43pm AEDT

Tip: No. 1 Deference

This is a rise in class for Deference, but he was an impressive all-the-way winner at Ipswich last time, and I think that it looks a nice opportunity for him to transition into Saturday metro company.

The Exceed And Excel gelding has improved with each start for Gillian Heinrich this time, and he was rewarded for his condition most recently.

He’ll get some relief in the weights under Sheridan Tomlinson and we can have an each-way play at the price.

Group 3 B.J. McLachlan Stakes (1200m) – 4:22pm AEDT

Tip: No Bet

Coolangatta has opened a clear and justifiable $1.35 favourite in McLachlan Stakes betting.

He’s shown ability since his first appearance at the trials and put the writing on the wall with an utterly dominant performance in the Gimcrack Stakes in October.

He has trialled extremely well in the lead-up to this return and he probably wins, but I’m happy to watch rather than dive in at the short quote.

Listed Bernborough Plate (1600m) – 5:02pm AEDT

Tip: No. 1 Niccanova

Niccanova can win this year’s Bernborough Plate

Niccanova has been an outstanding horse for the Steve Tregea yard throughout his career, he is multiple black type winner and he is unlucky not to have struck in Group 1 company.

So far this time, he has improved with each of his three starts, and he only just missed in the Listed Brisbane Handicap last time.

He is drawn ideally under Ryan Moloney and he’s going to take plenty of beating.

Listed Falvelon Quality (1200m) – 5:42pm AEDT

Tip: No. 1 Beau Rossa

This is an exciting edition of the Falvelon Quality and while Zoustyle has opened a justifiable favourite, I’m going to take him on.

Beau Rossa went to another level earlier this year, and I think that he can win this race at around the $5 mark.

Beau Rossa wesumed in July for a lovely win in the Listed Lightning at Morphettville, and he placed an impressive second in each of the Spring Stakes and Memsie Stakes at his next two.

That looks to be the superior form in my opinion, and he can return a winner.

Seasons Greetings From BRC Class 6 Handicap (1350m) – 6:22pm AEDT

Tip: No. 9 Snippy Fox

Sydneysider Snippy Fox is chasing a hat-trick when he takes his place in the last at Doomben on Sunday, and I am more than happy to stick with him.

Snippy Fox was an eye-catching winner at Canterbury when resuming and put paid to a BM88 field at Randwick last time.

There isn’t as much depth in this field and with even luck, he’ll be in the finish again.
