Dream All Day is set to resume racing at Flemington this Saturday in a 1400m benchmark 78 event for fillies and mares, with connections optimistic that their patient approach will pay dividends. Trained by Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr, the mare is a full sister to recently retired Group 1 star Atishu, who fetched $2.7 million at the Gold Coast sales. While Dream All Day is yet to reach those heights, her record of two wins and five placings from seven starts suggests she is a mare of quality.
“She’s prepped up good,” Kent Jnr said of the rising five-year-old. Having spent time at the stable’s beach property and impressed in a recent jump-out behind Zloties, the team believes she’s ready for a strong campaign. “She will probably be vulnerable fresh… but she has a big finish,” Kent noted. Apprentice Luke Cartwright, fresh from a Sandown treble, takes 3kg off her 56kg. Looking beyond Saturday, Kent hinted at longer distances: “She’s a sister to Atishu so 2000 metres should eventually suit.”
