Blake Shinn is set to take full advantage of the rescheduled Rosehill meeting, stepping into several key rides vacated by James McDonald.
McDonald, originally booked for multiple high-profile rides, is unavailable this week due to commitments in Dubai, leaving Shinn and others to take over.
Shinn will now ride Chris Waller-trained River Of Stars in the $1.5 million Group 1 Tancred Stakes, replacing McDonald. This opportunity arises after the meeting was moved, allowing Shinn to chase his first Tancred Stakes victory following his ride at Flemington’s Australian Cup last Saturday.
In addition to the Tancred Stakes, Shinn picks up rides aboard Kris Lees’ Brudenell in the Group 3 Star Kingdom Stakes and Peter Snowden’s Quietly Arrogant in the Group 3 TL Baillieu Handicap.
Damian Lane also takes over for McDonald on Waller’s Scarlet Oak in the Group 2 Emancipation Stakes. Lane, previously committed to the meeting, will also ride Green Fly for Anthony and Sam Freedman.
Zac Lloyd, another rider filling McDonald’s shoes, will take over rides including Movin’ Out in the Group 1 Vinery Stud Stakes and King Of Thunder in the Group 2 Tulloch Stakes.
