Raging Force is on track to kick off his new campaign after a strong winter that saw him secure three wins on the trot, culminating in an emphatic Rosehill success on July 5. The talented colt, by Snowden’s former sprint star Cosmic Force, now has his sights set on a stakes return.

Following a short freshen-up, the three-year-old is pencilled in for a Randwick trial on August 19 before heading straight into the San Domenico Stakes.

“He will go to the San Domenico,” Snowden said.

“Touch wood, he looks really well. A million bucks. He only had two weeks off but it was a bit of a mental freshen-up.

“He will present well and he’ll run well.”

Stablemate Beadman, who blitzed his rivals by eight lengths in the Group 3 Ken Russell Memorial (1200m) in May, is also thriving. Both youngsters were held back early in their careers due to minor issues but made their presence felt late in the season.

Raging Force’s career was halted early by an injury in the Breeders’ Plate (1000m), costing him several months of racing. Snowden believes the extra time could be beneficial in the long run.

“My horses were given plenty of time to mature, especially Beadman and Raging Force and it generally does pay dividends,” he said.

“It’s different if they’re up and running and strong. To be fair, Raging Force, if he hadn’t had an incident he would have been up and running earlier but it forced him out for four months and put him back a bit.

“Beadman, he had a few little issues too that had to be sorted out. They’re both behind him now and he looks absolutely amazing. He is probably another three weeks away from a trial but he looks that great he could be trialling tomorrow.”

The Group 3 San Domenico Stakes (1100m) will be run at Rosehill on August 30.
