Champion trainer Chris Waller is gearing up for a big spring campaign, with his leading fillies and mares already back in the stable preparing for key targets in the new season.

Back in work are standout performers Via Sistina, Coolmore Classic winner Lady Shenandoah, undefeated Autumn Glow, dominant Australian Derby winner Aeliana, and consistent mare Fangirl.

Waller is likely to split the group between New South Wales and Victoria, with some resuming in the Winx Stakes (1400m) at Randwick on August 23, while others may kick off in the Memsie Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield the following week.

“They are all back in work,” Waller said.

“In the Winx Stakes we will be well represented. A couple will go to the Memsie Stakes.

“A few of them might end up in the Makybe Diva (Stakes) and then Fangirl will come back for the King Charles III Stakes.

“Via Sistina will probably stay down there and is likely to follow a similar path to the Cox Plate as last year.”

With just weeks to go until the new racing season hits top gear, the Winx Stakes will be the first Group 1 event of the calendar and serves as a springboard into the major races.

Also set to rejoin the Waller team are three high-profile American imports owned by Yulong—Anisette, Moira, and Full Count Felicia. All three are Group 1 winners abroad and showed ability in brief Sydney appearances earlier this year.

Anisette and Moira were seen in the Doncaster Mile (1600m), while Full Count Felicia ran a gallant fourth to Via Sistina in the Ranvet Stakes (2000m).

The P B Lawrence Stakes (1400m) in Melbourne is a potential starting point for all three as Waller plans their spring campaigns.
